Hi! My name is Mary, and I am an artist and the owner of Mabel Paper Company, which is a small greeting card and specialty goods company.

I have always been an artist. I am a representational painter by training and you can find my large paintings at www.marydestefano.com, but I have been wanting to start a paper company for the past 10 years or so, and finally, here it is! Mabel is my paternal grandmother, who sadly died young, but from what I’ve heard she was the brightest star, the greatest caretaker, and had the kindest heart, and I feel a great connection to her, particularly through my art.

It is very important to me that my business reflect my values. I believe in people, and the importance of connection and community. I also think that creativity is the key to our humanity, and as our world is in a full blown environmental and political crisis, I hope that through art, cards, thoughtful gifts, and some stickers that might help you express some rage, my products will touch people and provide some beauty, levity, comfort, humor, and opportunities for connectedness (among other things!).

All the designs are hand-drawn and painted with watercolor by me, and then they are printed on recycled paper with eco-friendly ink and packaged in compostable sleeves (feel free to request no sleeve, if you are so inclined!).
